Novah / Care for the cleaning kit

How to wash microfiber cloths. Keep the little fibres working.

A good microfiber cloth quietly does a lot. A laundry load full of towel fluff does not improve its career prospects. Keep the cloths separate, measure the detergent and skip fabric softener.

Separate cloths. A mesh bag. 60°C for the named SINI cloth.

For SINI Yleisliina, rinse out loose dirt, put similar-coloured microfiber items in a mesh laundry bag and wash separately from lint-shedding textiles on a suitable 60°C programme. Use ordinary measured laundry detergent, without softener or bleach. SINI recommends rinsing after use and hanging to air dry. Other microfiber products can have lower temperature limits; 60°C here belongs to the named cloth.

Worked textile: SINI Yleisliina, 80% polyester and 20% polyamide. This page owns washing microfiber cloths, not maintaining the washing machine itself. The detergent example uses the named LV Color 1.5 litre bottle and its cited dosing sheet.

SINI Yleisliina: 60°C, separately, in a bag

The product instructions permit machine washing at 60°C, recommend a laundry bag and washing microfiber separately to avoid picking up lint. Use ordinary detergent and leave out softener and bleach. Rinse after use and hang with air around the cloth.

LV Color 1.5 litre bottle: a defined dose example

The cited LV sheet gives 50 ml for soft water or 75 ml for medium-hard water in a 3–5 kg machine; for 5–6 kg it gives 68 or 103 ml respectively. These are the named product's examples, not a universal tiny-load dose. Match the current bottle's load and water-hardness table if your machine or load is different.

Buy only what is missing

Keep the cloth. Add the bag if you need it.

The bag protects the microfiber items and keeps them together. LV Color is an ordinary laundry-liquid example, not a special microfiber chemical. Reuse your suitable detergent and bag rather than replacing a working set.

01 / Before you start

Sort the cloths before the machine.

The washing programme cannot undo a load assembled from incompatible textiles.

Same kind of fibres

Keep microfiber apart from lint-shedding cotton towels and other fluffy textiles. Separate colours that could transfer dye, and do not mix oily workshop rags into household cleaning cloths.

Loose grit removed

Rinse visible sand, crumbs and loose dirt out after use. Leave the cloth to dry if the wash is later; do not store it balled up wet.

The named care limit

SINI Yleisliina allows 60°C. A polishing cloth, screen cloth or another brand's pad may not. Keep incompatible lower-temperature cloths in a different batch.

02 / The steps

A clean load, then an airy finish.

Our hands-on sorting and loading estimate is 5–10 minutes. The washer's complete programme and the drying time are additional, and vary with the machine and room.

Separate microfiber cloths hanging open on a drying rack
A separate batch, no softener and room for air to reach every cloth.
  1. Rinse out loose dirt and separate the batch.

Rinse each used cloth in water and remove visible grit. Sort microfiber by compatible temperature and colour. Keep towel fluff, heavily oily rags and non-microfiber textiles out of the load.

  2. Load a mesh bag with room to move.

Put the cloths in a suitable SINI or existing mesh bag. Do not compress them into a tight ball. Close the zip and tuck its pull into the protective fabric flap if present. Leave enough space for water to move around the items.

  3. Measure the detergent, not a generous splash.

Use ordinary suitable laundry detergent. For the named LV Color 1.5 litre example in a 3–5 kg machine, the cited dose is 50 ml with soft water or 75 ml with medium-hard water. For a 5–6 kg machine, the sheet gives 68 or 103 ml. Match a smaller load or another machine to the current bottle's table; do not apply a full-machine example blindly.

Do not add fabric softener or bleach, including a separate rinse-stage dose.

  4. Select a complete 60°C-compatible programme.

For this SINI cloth batch, choose a normal programme that is compatible with the textiles and set it to 60°C. Use the machine's detergent compartment as intended and start. Do not assume that a programme named Eco 40–60 necessarily runs a constant 60°C wash.

  5. Check for residue after the wash.

Take the bag out and check the cloths. If detergent residue remains or they feel soapy, run a clean-water rinse without adding product. Do not mask an old smell with softener; inspect whether dirt, storage dampness or detergent residue remains.

  6. Hang open to dry and store dry.

Remove the cloths from the bag, open them out and hang with air between them. SINI's hanging loop makes this easy. Let them dry fully before stacking in a cupboard. Keep a clean dry cloth ready for the next job instead of reaching for yesterday's wet bundle.

A few small laundry decisions make the difference.

A fluffy towel load

SINI recommends washing microfiber separately so lint from other textiles does not stick to it.

More detergent for a small load

Extra detergent can leave residue. Use the product's dose for your conditions and rinse away any remaining soap.

Wet cloths closed in a cupboard

Rinse after use and dry with airflow. A folded damp stack is not ready for storage.

03 / The finishing touch

Small fibres, useful again.

A dry cloth that feels free of soap and picks up ordinary dirt is ready for work. Keep kitchen and bathroom cloths easy to tell apart, and replace a damaged cloth when it no longer does its job.

  • The batch was kept apart from lint-shedding laundry.
  • No softener or bleach was added.
  • Cloths are fully dry before storing.

04 / Questions

Questions

Can all microfiber be washed at 60°C?

No. That temperature is verified for SINI Yleisliina. Other cloths, pads and specialist polishing fabrics may have different limits. Separate them rather than choosing one hot programme for everything.

Why no fabric softener?

SINI's cloth instructions explicitly say not to use softener or bleach. Keep the routine to compatible measured detergent and rinsing.

Is 50 ml the dose for any number of cloths?

No. It is the cited LV product-sheet example for a 3–5 kg machine in soft water. The load, machine and water conditions matter. Use the current bottle's applicable smaller-load dose instead of treating one example as universal.

Does this clean the washing machine too?

No. This washes the cloths. The separate washing-machine guide deals with its drawer, seal, filter and maintenance cycle. Do not add an appliance cleaner to a load of cloths.
