Novah / The basket reset
How to clean an air fryer. Give the baskets a breather.
Yesterday's chips do not need to join tonight's dinner. Let the fryer cool, lift out the parts and give the stuck bits a proper soak. Most of the work happens while you are doing something else.
Go to the steps
Cool it. Soak the loose parts. Keep the body dry.
For the Philips 3000 Dual Basket NA352/00, switch off and unplug. Once completely cool, empty fat, remove both frying inserts and wash the pans and inserts with hot water and dishwashing liquid. Stuck food gets a 10–15 minute soak. Wipe the cavity with a well-wrung cloth; never pour water into the appliance. Rinse the loose parts and dry everything before reassembly.
The job, at a glance
Your basket-cleaning recipe
The worked example is Philips NA352/00, sold in Finland. It has removable pans and frying inserts with a nonstick coating.
- Soak stuck food
- 10–15 minThe Philips manual's soaking time for removable parts.
- Hands-on work
- 8–12 minOur planning estimate, after the appliance has cooled.
- Metal scrapers
- 0The coating needs a soft tool, not more force.
Philips NA352/00: two pans, two inserts
Lift the insert out of each cool pan and wash the four pieces separately. The manual permits a dishwasher for these removable parts. Handwashing is the route below. Neither the body nor the divider is a bowl to fill with water.
Buy only what is missing
A tiny kit for a greasy basket.
Fairy Original is an example of ordinary grease-cutting hand dish soap. Start with a small drop, adding only enough for lightly soapy water; the manual does not specify a fixed millilitre dose.
A practical choice
Fairy Original dishwashing liquid
654 ml bottle
For the removed pans and inserts; rinse away completely.

01 / Before you start
Set up the sink, not a cleaning cycle.
You are cleaning an appliance that is switched off. Adding water and turning it on is not part of this method.
Completely cool first
Unplug and pull the pans out to help cooling. Wait until the pans, inserts and cavity are cool to touch; a fixed timer cannot prove they are safe.
Fat goes in the bin
Wipe cooled oil into kitchen paper and dispose of it with household waste. Do not send the pan's cooking fat down the drain.
A soft contact surface
Use the soft side of a non-abrasive sponge or a cloth. Leave steel wool, scouring powder, metal forks and oven cleaner out of the job.
02 / The steps
From greasy drawer to ready for dinner.
Follow this sequence for each removable pan. The 10–15 minute soak is for the pan and insert only.

Switch off, unplug and unload.
Press the power button, unplug with dry hands and let the fryer cool fully. Remove both pans. Lift out the frying inserts and tip loose crumbs into the bin. Wipe out the cooled fat with kitchen paper.

Soften the stuck food for 10–15 minutes.
Put the loose pans and inserts in the sink with hot water and a small amount of Fairy Original. Wet the dirty surfaces and leave them for 10–15 minutes. Do not put the electrical body, cable or plug in the sink.
For a lightly dirty basket, skip the soak and go straight to washing.

Wipe the base, corners and insert holes.
Hold each insert securely and pass a soft sponge over both faces. Work into the corners of the pan with the soft cloth. If a patch stays stuck, return it to the soak and try again; do not scrape away the coating to save a minute.
Rinse until the surface is no longer soapy.
Rinse each pan and insert under clean water, including handles, corners and small openings. Feel for greasy patches once cool. Wash those patches again, then rinse. A strong fragrance is not the finishing test.
Clean the cavity and reachable crumbs.
Wring a warm damp cloth very thoroughly and wipe the inside walls and exterior. For visible crumbs on the cooled heating element, use a soft to medium bristle cleaning brush with gentle strokes. Keep water out of vents and controls. Do not dismantle the top or force a brush into hidden parts.

Dry, seat the inserts and put the pans back.
Towel-dry the loose parts and leave them to finish air drying. Wipe the body dry. Put each insert back into its matching pan and slide both pans home only when everything is dry. If you accidentally removed the divider, put it back correctly before use.

Three shortcuts worth skipping.
Heating a drawer of soapy water
This guide uses a sink soak. Do not invent a steam-clean cycle for a model that has no such cleaning function.
A green scourer on the coating
More pressure can turn a food patch into permanent damage. Choose the soft tool and give the soak time.
Perfumed degreaser in the cavity
Ordinary dish soap handles the loose parts. Do not spray an unapproved strong cleaner around the heater, fan or electronics.
03 / The finishing touch
Clean, dry, ready for the next round.
The useful finish is simple: no pooled fat, no loose crumbs and no soap residue. A clean basket should not feel sticky.
- Both inserts are rinsed and seated correctly.
- The pans, cavity and exterior are dry.
- After the next cook, wipe out cooled fat before it hardens.
04 / Questions
Questions
Can the NA352 parts go in the dishwasher?
Yes. Philips permits the removable pans and frying inserts in the dishwasher. The electrical body stays out. Our method uses handwashing so you can inspect the coating and rinse each corner.
Guidance from: Philips · NA350 / NA352 cleaning instructions (opens in a new tab)
Do I need a special air-fryer cleaner?
Usually not for this routine. The manual allows hot water, dishwashing liquid and a non-abrasive sponge. Reuse your existing hand dish soap and soft tools rather than buying a separate spray.

Why does it still smell after washing?
Look for leftover fat beneath the insert and reachable crumbs around the cooled heater. Clean those areas and dry again. If it smokes despite clean parts, has damaged coating or smells electrical, stop using it and arrange service.
Does this clean an oven too?
An air fryer is a different appliance with its own coated removable parts. Use the separate oven guide for oven surfaces; do not carry an oven-cleaner recipe into this basket.
